Joining Sinopec Canada as a Senior Risk Management & Insurance Analyst means becoming an important part of our team dedicated to making successful contributions to a sustainable future.Primary Purpose of PositionReporting to the Vice President, Risk Management & Internal Control, this role is responsible for managing the Corporate Enterprise Risk Management and Insurance function of Sinopec Canada. This position is primarily responsible for the renewal of Sinopec Canada’s insurance policies as well as providing assistance in managing Sinopec Canada’s robust enterprise risk management (ERM) framework – which will afford the opportunity to participate in the development of mitigating measures across a wide spectrum of business issues. The goal of the function is to improve the overall system of internal controls and risk management within the Company while ensuring that its functionality supports existing business processes.Roles and Responsibilities are as follows but are not limited to: Insurance Duties: Assist with managing Sinopec Canada local insurance program.Gather required insurance renewal underwriting exposure data.Assist with the completion of any required applications for various insurance coverages.Work with stakeholders in assessing loss trends and impact on the insurance premiums.Prepare materials required for insurance underwriter presentations and meetings.Coordinate with Sinopec Canada’s third-party certificate of insurance vendor and provide assistance to the business in the collection and management of the certificate of insurance process.Work with Finance and insurance broker in managing the premium allocation process.Review and negotiate contracts and certificates of insurance for proper insurance and compliance with hold harmless and indemnification provisions.Engage with risk professionals in amending/negotiating insurance certificates to be in compliance with requirements.Preparing claims documentation and leading the claim communication with various stakeholders.Reviewing key claims performance indicators and the potential impact to the insurance program.Manage external relationship with the insurance broker, advisor and insurer.ERM Duties: Develop, complete and report the results of compliance programs to Management, the Audit Committee and Headquarters to meet obligations as per the Sinopec International Petroleum Exploration and Production Corporation (SIPC) Internal Control Manual:Develop audit programs to determine if the Sinopec Canada’s internal controls are designed and operating effectively;Liaise with external auditors regarding their evaluation of Sinopec Canada’s compliance program, and planning and execution of the annual audit of financial statements;Report the results of the audit to various stakeholders.Review and update key compliance documents, including quality assurance:Store and maintain key compliance documents;Manage the evaluation and reporting of control deficiencies and changes to key internal controls;Prepare quarterly and annual status reports for Management, the Audit Committee and SIPC.Lead remediation efforts of internal control deficiencies:Work with management or business process owners to identify the deficiencies and prioritize based upon risk;Develop a plan to remediate and track the identified deficiencies;Develop (internal or external) remediation teams;Lead the remediation teams through the implementation of new controls/processes;Develop a continuous improvement program, including developing and implementing a training program for management and staff.Develop integration strategies and lead implementation efforts of acquired entities:Conduct due diligence of prospective acquisition targets regarding their control environment;Based on the due diligence, develop integration strategies for the respective acquisition targets;Work closely with finance and operation groups on the integration of controls of entities acquired.Develop a communication strategy and implement communications mediums to increase awareness of the Company’s compliance benefits and obligations:Develop a communications strategy;Create communications tools (i.e. presentations, newsletters, internal advertising, etc.);Deliver the communications tools to staff and assist other key staff in communicating the required messages to the Company.Stay up-to-date on changes to SIPC’s reporting requirements (or any other applicable authority) to ensure that the Company’s compliance programs are effective and efficient;Coordinate the QMS review and audit as well as report the state of compliance;Design and lead the implementation of enterprise risk management to ensure business is operated in safe and effective manner:Understand current environment and Design roadmap for ERM project;Lead the implementation project and develop effective communication strategy;Embed ERM system into daily operation, maintain and report state of ERM and make recommendations to executives and board on a regular basis;Work with other teams to identify and propose mitigation plans for major risks, maintain and report state of ERM and recommendation to executives and board on a regular basis;Develop a continuous improvement program, including developing and implementing a training program for management and staff;Position Knowledge, Skills and ExperienceAdvanced level MS Office skills.Strong technical and data analysis skills.Good negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills and the ability to listen and effectively work to resolve issues.Positive attitude with great customer service skills.Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to effectively multi-task and values, a respectful work; environment, and aligning with the code of business conduct.QualificationsBachelor’s degree required.A combination of experience (minimum of seven years) in insurance and enterprise risk management experience, with working knowledge of both property and liability insurance underwriting and up-stream oil and gas industry processes.Broad understanding of insurance coverages and applicability to reviewing Certificates of Insurance and indemnification provisions within contracts.Implementation experience in enterprise risk management(ERM) will be considered an
