Fortinet's Vishak Raman on Recent Ransomware Trends, Defenses

The ransomware threat is becoming increasingly pervasive. At least 10,000 different variants are victimizing organizations that thought they were well-prepared to tackle this growing menace, said Vishak Raman of Fortinet, which recently released a report on ransomware trends.

"The surprising element is that threat actors are continuing to use the same attack techniques of phishing, remote code access and RDP comprise to carry out these hacks," he added.

Raman has over two decades of experience in the cybersecurity with expertise in product management, sales, marketing and business development. Prior to Fortinet, he served as the director of security business, India and SAARC, at Cisco.
