Artificial intelligence and machine learning can enhance data security by picking up threats in the network earlier, says John Lee, a managing director at the Global Resilience Federation, a nonprofit provider of threat intelligence.

Lee also notes: "As a result of OT, IT and IoT convergence, it is important to have secure configuration. Doing it the right way and ensuring that it is done continuously is important."

In a video interview with Information Security Media Group as part of the CyberEdBoard's ongoing Profiles in Leadership series, Lee also discusses:

  • His top three accomplishments in the field of cybersecurity;
  • Why machine learning and AI will play bigger roles in cybersecurity.

Lee is the managing director for the Asia-Pacific region at the Global Resilience Federation and the Operational Technology Information Sharing Analysis Center, which provides threat information to members on cyber and OT vulnerabilities and incidents. Lee oversees the planning of OT-ISAC strategic programs and provides management oversight for its operations. He has more than 20 years of experience in the areas of IT governance, risk and compliance, security operations, and the design and delivery of information security and infrastructure services.
