”Data science is largely about representing an event in mathematical terms, and taking data input and ‘matching it’ to a previously existing pattern is relatively straightforward,” says Weintraub, head of security operations and engineering under CISO Jim Routh. “There are hundreds of potential cyber use cases for recognizing deviation from patterns.”

In a video interview with Information Security Media Group, Weintraub discusses:

  • The application of data science in the SOC;
  • The data-fueled evolution of IAM;
  • Current use cases and lessons learned.

Weintraub joined MassMutual in the fall of 2019 as the head of security operations and engineering. She is responsible for the company's global security operations center, security engineering, security intelligence and identity and access management. Previously, she served as senior director of data and access security within cybersecurity operations at TIAA, where she led a three-year business transformation program to position IAM as a digital business enabler. She also served as global head of vulnerability management at BNY Mellon and was part of the threat and vulnerability management practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
