Under the general direction of the Managing Director, Operations and General Counsel, the VP, Risk Management will oversee CIM Group’s Risk Management Department and oversee all insurance related activities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Risk Management/Administration Direct the purchase of all insurance programs Manage relationships with third party service providers including consultants, brokers, and insurers Identify potential risk exposures, recommend solutions, implement approved programs, promote loss prevention, update and monitor compliance with insurance procedures and manage safety/risk management manuals Evaluate insurance clauses for management contracts and reviews Certificates of Insurance associated with said contracts Implement an efficient insurance premium, claims, and third-party administrator invoicing process Manage information gathering process for insurance renewal submissions and coordinate with insurance broker Manage renewal certificates and bond procurement with our insurance broker Prepare insurance budget estimates, including allocations Assist in tracking regarding the Company’s Total Cost of Risk and provide related benchmarking reports Prepare and distribute insurance summaries to Company Management Coordinate internally with various departments, including, but not limited to, Acquisitions/Dispositions, Finance, Development, and Accounting with respect to transaction related matters involving insurance and risk management and communicating as appropriate back to the broker Claims Services Maintain control over the claims process to assure that claims are being settled fairly consistently, and in the best interest of the entity Manage all phases of the claims process from intake and investigation through litigation, settlement, and/or trial, and consults and/or participates in negotiations, conferences and mediations with adjusting companies, legal counsel, staff, claimants, and others Allocate claim costs and premiums to departments and divisions Oversee the incident reporting process Assess and report claims to carriers as appropriate Manage claims against third party insurance carriers as needed Enterprise Risk Partner with the Internal Audit Team to manage CIM Group’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline required Master's Degree preferred 10+ years [FS1] of insurance and risk management Experience in managing a team of risk analysts This is my input here.
