Software Quality Assurance Engineer - a.i. solutions, Inc. - Huntsville, AL

a.i. solutions is seeking a driven individual who will support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Quality, Safety and Mission Assurance (QS) Directorate providing Quality and Mission Assurance support by participating in multi-disciplinary teams conducting Software Quality Assurance (SQA) and mission assurance evaluations, audits and assessments. This position will provide software quality technical expertise to Quality and Mission Assurance Management in performing oversight of all lifecycle phases. This role supports resolution plans for identified software requirements, design, development, testing and programmatic issues. In addition, this individual will be supporting software program milestone reviews and failure review boards/investigations. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to embrace the a.i. solutions mission and work to continually exceed the expectations of our customers. Essential Roles & Responsibilities: Provide engineering, software quality and mission assurance support within the Ballistic Missile Defense Systems, specifically within the Advanced Technologies Directorate, Quality and Mission Assurance Branch Evaluate contracts for MDA Assurance Provisions and Parts, Materials, and Processes requirements, particularly for Software Quality Assurance requirements Support software requirements development and implementation processes by evaluating and assessing project plans, design, development, and maintenance for mission critical missile defense software Review Government requirements documents and supplier software technical requirements for assurance compliance and assist with addressing issues Work with a broad variety of development, testing and production issues in software design and analysis, software maintenance, and testing Use requirements, design, code and testing tools to characterize issues in software development and operation Evaluate nonconformance reports, preventive and corrective maintenance work orders, and systems upgrade work orders Assess effectiveness and completeness of program planning, root cause and corrective action and adverse trends in contractor performance and systems readiness Report quality issues, program impacts and adverse trends to Program Office leadership Demonstrate strong collaboration and communication skills to foster efficient workflow across multiple parties including government customers, technical staff, and other stakeholders Review, analyze and trend software metrics, as applicable Travel periodically, approximately once every other month Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or a related technical discipline 10+ years of relevant engineering experience in a DoD/MDA environment 3+ years of SQA experience in a software development environment Currently possess an active DoD secret security clearance Desired Background: Ability to quickly connect in-person and in writing, and to actively listen and perceive the needs, values or opinions of others Demonstrated leadership accomplishments professionally and personally Proactive in identifying and addressing challenges to include innovations that result in positive organizational impact Quality Auditor experience Experience with missile defense and/or hypersonic weapon system component technology risk reduction
