Risk Management Nurse - Miami Care Center - Miami, FL

JOB TITLE: Risk Management NurseSUPERVISOR: Director of Nursing and/or Executive DirectorDEPARTMENT: NursingPurpose: The Risk Management Nurse will be responsible for monitoring high risk events and/or residents, and keeping the Executive Director and Director of Nursing informed of any potential risk related issues.Qualifications: · Strong communication, organizational and multi-tasking skills· Excellent administrative, phone and interpersonal skills· Must be able to demonstrate good judgment, self control and tact in dealing with staff, residents, family vendors, etc.· Knowledge of rules and regulation as it pertains to operations of the skilled nursing facility· Knowledge of abuse reporting and regulations.· Ability to identify high risk situations and develop/implement a proactive plan of correctionJob Functions: · Daily rounding of facility· Medical record audits· Track and monitor high risk residents· Participate in QA and Quality Improvement Meetings· Identify areas of opportunity within the center and make recommendations to the Director of Nursing and Executive Director· All other duties as assignedEducation/ExperienceValid RN or LPN license in the state of FloridaMinimum 5 years long term care experience in the state of FloridaPrevious experience in Risk Management is preferred.Miami Care Center is a Skilled Nursing Facility for COVID-19 active residents only. We will be providing essential care to a very compromised group of individuals who do not require acute care, however, due to specialized infection control needs of these residents, many other skilled nursing facilities are unable to provide this level of care and therefore these residents are in need of temporary placement. Miami Care Center will operate as long as there is a need for this resident population. Please understand that any employment at Miami Care Center, in addition to current laws, standards, and regulations enforced by local, State, and federal authorities, will be considered at-will Full Time, Part Time, or PRN/Casual as long as the governing authorities of the State of Florida determine the need for this Facility to remain in operation. Once the Facility ceases operations, there is no guarantee of continuing or future employment with any affiliate(s) of the Facility.Due to the operational nature of this Facility, both in the population we serve and its semi-temporary nature, we will be paying a premium hourly or salary rate. Candidates who successfully pass pre-employment requirements and are hired will be classified as private-sector employees, not a State of Florida or public-sector employee.
