Privacy Officer - Raymond James Ltd. - Toronto, ON

Raymond James Ltd. is seeking a qualified Privacy Officer to work in either our Vancouver or Toronto office.Raymond James Ltd. is Canada’s leading full-service independent investment dealer offering high quality investment products and services to Canadians seeking customized solutions to their wealth management needs.The Privacy Officer will be responsible for managing the day to day functions of the privacy program. In addition, the Privacy Officer will be responsible for helping ensure the privacy program at the firm is adhered to and to improve and update it as necessary.Specifically you will:Assist in managing and developing the firm’s privacy program;Draft and implement privacy policies for the firm;Perform privacy impact assessments and conduct related ongoing compliance monitoring activities;Respond to and manage privacy access requests from clients;Respond to and manage privacy incidents or breaches;Keep up to date with laws and regulations related to privacy;Provide assistance in responding to regulatory requests;Provide education and training related to privacy;Support cross-company global projects involving personal information;Work with IT to ensure integration between privacy and technology policies and initiatives; andOther duties as assigned.To qualify for this opportunity you possess:2-4 years’ experience in a privacy office or in a role with similar functions;CIPP/C, CIPM or law degree;Excellent knowledge of, and experience in researching and applying relevant information privacy laws, including Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA);Knowledge of compliance requirements, tools and measures;Knowledge of, and experience with the development of policies and procedures within financial institutions an asset;Knowledge of information technology concepts and processes that impact the protection of personal information an asset;Bilingual (English and French) an asset;Superior verbal and written communication skills;Well-developed and proven customer service and interpersonal skills;Organized with an ability to prioritize concurring obligations;Able to work with tight deadlines, works well under pressure; andPractical approach to privacy.This is a permanent full-time position with a competitive compensation and benefits package.If you would like to join our team, please send a resume and covering letter, quoting the position and Job Posting # 18-202 by October 12, 2018.To be considered for employment candidates will be required to provide proof of citizenship, permanent residency or eligibility to work in Canada with no restrictions.
