A completed Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or equivalent professional experiencePrior experience in logistics, law enforcement, asset protection, audit, risk management, inventory control, quality assurance or other related fields15+ years of investigative experience identifying, resolving, conducting root cause analysis, and recommending deterrent enhancementsExperience in last mile, mid mile and distribution environmentsExperience in organized retail crime detection and law enforcement partnershipsFamiliarity with security equipment such as intrusion detection devices, access control systems, and CCTVExperience with MS Office Professional Suite, including intermediate knowledge of Excel
The Manager of Logistics Investigations, will lead the Logistics Investigations Team’s efforts to efficiently and effectively provide investigation and resolution services pertaining to the protection of people, product and data for Amazon. This individual will be responsible for hiring and developing Investigation Managers responsible for implementation and management of logistic loss prevention programs and investigations while driving profitability through shrink improvement. Additionally, this individual will be responsible for developing the investigative strategy for all investigative matters within Amazon Logistics, Amazon Transportation Services and Global Specialty Fulfillment. Business formats/services include Vendor Flex, Delivery, Sort Centers, Prime Now, Mid-mile, Last-mile, Line-haul, Campus, Fresh and Pantry while leveraging partnerships with key stakeholders across the network to pursue and resolve Organized Retail Crime activity. The Manager of Logistics Investigations will be a key member of the Security and Loss Prevention team. This position is based in Goodyear, AZ and will report to the Manager of Investigations, Strategic Investigative Solutions, The Americas, Loss Prevention, Global Security Operations.

Key Responsibilities include:

Recruits, hires, trains and leads a team of Logistics Investigation Managers and Specialists direct reportsDevelops overarching companywide LP investigative programs related to logistic theft activityProvides oversight of program that identifies criminal activity by leveraging information from internal reporting, data analysis, LP reported incidents and retail theft trendsDevelops investigative strategy detailing investigative plans that facilitate case resolution at appropriate scope and paceDevelops fraud models/strategies to mitigate fraud/loss while minimizing customer and operational impactsDevelops and maintains positive field based relationships with law enforcement at local, state, and federal levels, as well as other retail loss prevention ORC organizations to identify, investigate and prosecute offendersDefine investigations scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholdersBuilds and fosters relationships with Legal, Customer Service, Field Loss Prevention and various internal partners as requiredServes as the investigative subject matter expert for logistics investigations keeping abreast of key issues, strategies and the investigations department’s performanceAligns performance and actions with clear articulation of vision and values of the investigations organizationProvides oversight of logistics investigations ensuring appropriate prioritization of team resources are fully leveragedFacilitates the creative design of reporting methodologies to maximize efficiencies of logistics theft best practices across the networkDevelops business cases which receive the required approval, financial and technical resources, and the support of appropriate stakeholders to facilitate desired change
Lean / Six Sigma concepts and certification is a plusWicklander-Zulawski CertifiedLoss Prevention Certified (LPC)Strong analytical leader with effective management and problem solving skillsDetailed knowledge of theft and statutory laws/regulationsExperience leading teams providing management, leadership and mentoring to direct reportsExperience with warehousing, transportation and manufacturingStrong oral and written communication skillsAbility to network with national ORC task force organization and outside law enforcement as neededKnowledge of Amazon systems and fulfillment center processes
