General Accounting Analyst - Toyota - Plano, TX

Who we?re looking for TMNA?s General Accounting Department is looking for a highly motivated and qualified General Accounting Analyst. The primary responsibility of this role is for the oversight of the accounting and reporting of general accounting transactions. This position works closely with various Divisions including Financial Reporting, Toyota and Lexus Marketing, Regional Offices, Treasury and internal & external auditors to perform the job responsibilities. Reporting to the General Accounting Supervisor, the person in this role will support the General Accounting Department?s objective by ensuring that all the general accounting transactions are appropriately recorded and reflected in the financial statements accurately, timely and be a key resource to support process improvements. What you'll be doing Analyze, prepare and record key monthly and quarterly journal entries for Toyota and Lexus marketing, cash and others to ensure that the general ledger is accurate, and entries are recorded in a timely manner. Works closely with key divisions to provide general ledger support and analysis of financial results. Prepare account reconciliations and supporting documentation to support key SOX and internal controls. Prepare and support quarterly and annual financial reporting requirements. Responsible for working closely with external auditors to support quarterly financial and SOX audits by providing supporting schedules and responding to audit inquiries and ad hoc requests. Prepare and present to management ad hoc financial analysis and data requests for key financial accounts. Identify, research and make recommendations of business requirements for new accounting pronouncements handling including the development of new business processes. Promote identification, development and implementation of process improvements to create additional controls and efficiencies over accounting processes. What you bring Bachelor?s degree in accounting, Finance, Business or related field United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) knowledge Experience in accounting and financial reporting/audit with progressively increasing responsibility Strong skills in taking the initiative to lead Kaizen efforts and change management Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to close process gaps and resolve issues Strong analytical and presentation skills Proven analytical, organization, interpersonal, problem solving, high accuracy and process improvement skills Ability to work well in a fast paced, deadline driven and team-based environment Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint A successful candidate may have Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Master of Business Administration (MBA) Public accounting experience Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) experience Automotive industry experience.
