The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Policy Management Program Leader will be responsible for leading the enterprise policy management program. The candidate will lead stakeholders from the business lines and risk categories assigned to support the enterprise policy management program. This includes leading daily policy management activities, owning the enterprise policy requirements and related procedures, monthly and quarterly reporting, collaborating with technology team on policy management technology, and supporting a wide range of stakeholders to successfully execute policy management activities throughout the enterprise.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate knowledge of policy management best practices and methodologies and be able to effectively manage ongoing policy management activities, including the design & implementation of enhancements to programs that they lead. The candidate should be knowledgeable in risk data and the effective application of technology to supplement the policy management program. The candidate will be managing staff, including responsibilities for staffing, performance management, guidance and training.

Candidates will leverage skills including relationship building, professional communication, and project management to ensure that U.S. Bank’s processes align with regulatory expectations and industry leading practices. Key attributes for a candidate include:

Technical Knowledge: Competent in policy management methodologies in the banking industry. Capability to leverage fundamental elements of existing policy management program, while focusing on design enhancements and insights from industry leading practices and related internal initiatives.

Communication and Relationship Building: Builds and maintains positive relationships with senior management, business line, ERM team members, and stakeholders across U.S. Bank using effective written and oral communication practices and can tailor communication to the audience level of understanding. Ability to effectively communicate with regulators, auditors, and independent oversight functions. Fosters collaboration across the U.S. Bank enterprise while drawing in diverse groups to share ideas, information and resources to strengthen the ERM program. Can influence others using program knowledge, negotiation methods, and is able to overcome objections to foster consensus among constituents.

Performance Development and Management: Models behavior that support the vision of ERM Group and U.S. Bank. Sets clear, well-defined, desired outcomes for work activity and ability to adjust to and address competing priorities and urgent tasks.
