CCB Risk Chase Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) serves consumers and small businesses with a broad range of financial services, including personal banking, small business banking and lending, mortgages, credit cards, payments, auto finance and investment advice. Consumer & Community Banking Risk Management partners with each CCB sub-line of business to identify, assess, prioritize and remediate risk. Types of risk that occur in consumer businesses include fraud, reputation, operational, credit, market and regulatory, among others This position in Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) Operational Risk Management (ORM) is part of an independent "second line of defense”, that will proactively identify potential Operational Risks and ensure adequate controls are in place to guard against financial, operational, regulatory, or reputational risks to the firm. The Operational Risk Management Team is also responsible for assessing the effectiveness of the control environment through ongoing independent challenge and targeted reviews as well as other Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF) credible challenge activities The role focuses on providing effective Operational Risk oversight for Consumer Banking through independent and continuous oversight aligned with the firm-wide Operational Risk management framework. The role is primarily aligned to Retail Non-Deposit Investment Product (RNDIP) oversight of Branch Operating model of broker-dealer activities occurring in the branch. Must execute the following objectives: Manage ORMF objectives and requirements, as defined by Corporate Operational Risk Manage the ORMF objectives and requirements Be a trusted advisor and leverage subject matter knowledge to drive value added dialogue and informed risk based decisions Assess the key risks associated with new business initiatives and change management activities and follow up with business owners to address mitigating actions on identified risks Understand the area’s RCSA, Key Risk & Performance Indicators, and other controls to identify negative trends and potential control gaps Provide independent, objective view of the Business and/or function control environment, mitigation strategies and emerging risk Maintain awareness of risk and control issues within the Business / function whether self-identified or from internal /external audit Review internal and external Operational Risk events for opportunities to implement new preventive and detective controls Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of existing controls and provide business direction on opportunities for improvement Undertake Targeted and Emerging Risk Assessments across key areas of risk Foster effective partnerships and collaborate with Business and Control partners Analyze risk concentration areas, risk profiles, and synthesize data from internal and external sources in order to identify operational risk areas which need to be assessed Identify and assess severity and likelihood of issues for potential escalation and communication to senior Business Executives and Senior Risk Managers Perform independent challenge assessment of adherence to RCSA standards and adequacy of the RCSA program Understand the area’s Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), Key Risk & Performance Indicators, and other controls to identify negative trends and potential control gaps Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or other quantitative discipline is required An MBA degree and/or professional certification, such as CPA, CIA or CISA are preferred 7 - 10 years experience in Financial Institution Risk, Business Operations, Business Process Improvement, Audit or Compliance Strong knowledge of operations, and/or product support related business experience within Chase Wealth Management Strong analytical skills and proven ability to develop solutions to complex problems Ability to understand business functions quickly and to assess the operational, financial, regulatory or reputational impact control issues Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Enthusiastic, self motivated, effective under pressure Must work well individually, and in teams Strong desk top skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Business Objects) with the ability to quickly learn new applications
