Business Systems Analyst II - Serco Inc. - Herndon, VA

Position Description Serco Inc is searching for a Systems Analyst with a strong background in and demonstrated aptitude for Process modeling and systems analysis as part of the Enterprise Solutions and Architecture team (ESA).
The Enterprise Solutions & Architecture (ESA) group is Serco’s Consulting and Solutions team for North America. As a member of our team you will be challenged with some of the toughest assignments in the company. The ESA group’s charter is to provide architectural and technical guidance, serving as the primary competency center business architecture and solution design across the company.
Tasks and responsibilities associated with this position include: Meets with internal and external stakeholders to gather operational goals, to highlight process weakness and resource limitations and to develop and review analyzing alternatives based on the diagnostic results of process analysis and related modeling. Performs modeling, simulation and other types of analysis to analyze and predict system performance, to validate sizing and configuration, to identify bottlenecks and to optimize design to meet or exceed established throughput, resource and capacity requirements. Performs trade studies as needed to evaluate design and/or component alternatives, which are then designed as experiments to test defined hypotheses about those alternatives through process modeling. Analyzes, interprets and documents results of process modeling activities, and provides feedback to other integrated product team analysts for incorporation into system design. Continually analyzes and interprets performance metrics from fielded, operational systems to calibrate and tune system models. Understands business process simulation concepts and approaches, including discrete simulation, stochastic modeling and statistical analyses. Analyzes enterprise operational information generated by processes under analysis, including leveling data of different granularity as necessary to support simulation of models. Builds process models (e.g., in MS Visio) to capture the translation of inputs into outputs, to generate measurable value and to communicate domain understanding of the process being modeled. Qualifications The ideal candidate should have a strong grasp on Process modeling concepts, theories and methodologies as indicated through training, work experience, and demonstrated aptitude. This includes knowing the following: Ability to analyze and model business processes, business logic (including separation of workflows, business rules, and functional behavior) as well as Statistical analyses (mean, variance/standard deviation, scatter plots, histograms, Pareto charts, probability distributions, etc.) Process modeling languages, with working knowledge of BPMN 2.0 preferred Bachelor's Degree from an accredidate university. 5-7 years’ work experience or equivalent experience US Citizenship required Company Overview Serco Inc.
