Position Summary:

BayFirst solutions is hiring a Business Process Improvement (BPI) Analyst to support the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Office of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber and Intelligence (C5I) in Washington, DC. The BPI Analyst selected for this position will be part of a team that identifies, develops, and implements business processes needed by the government client to execute their responsibilities as the Coast Guard’s Requirements Management Office (RMO) efficiently. The BPI Analyst selected for this position will provide analysis and recommendations to improve the RMO’s business processes using Six Sigma or similar industry standard processes. These BPI efforts will improve RMO performance through establishment and implementation of documented, repeatable business processes that guarantee expected outcomes, are optimized to ensure efficiency, and allow performance to be measured against defined metrics. The end result is that office performance can be assessed against a professional standard, such as a Capability Maturity Model certification, which can be relayed to client stakeholders to provide assurances that their capability requests will be handled efficiently and professionally. The preferred candidate will possess demonstrated expertise in BPI (Six Sigma) methods, strong oral and written communication skills, and excellent teamwork skills. Duties/Responsibilities:

The Business Process Improvement (BPI) Analyst will support some or all of the following functions: BPI Training - Provide or support Six Sigma or similar industry standard training to government personnel to enable their participation in BPI efforts. Document training and training plans in order for government personnel to provide follow-on initial and refresher training at regular intervals. Process Identification - Identify processes required for the client to condict routine work, responsibilities, and supporting functions. Process Improvement - Identify shortfalls and recommend improvements to existing Requirements Management Office business processes to increase efficiency. Process Improvement Planning - Collaborate with the government to identify and prioritize which BPI projects will be accomplished from the results of Process Identification and Process Improvement efforts. Process Improvement Guide – Support the development of a Process Improvement Guide based on the prioritized list resulting the the Process Improvement Planning effort. This guide shall provide required steps for improving business processes, include a Process Flow Diagram and descriptive instructions for completing the required steps. The guide shall include references used during its development. Process Improvement Tools – Support the development of tools required to implement or otherwise automate developed processes. These tools include SharePoint processes, templates, and dashboards that are supportable on the USCG enterprise computer system. Monitoring Effectiveness – Support measuring the effectiveness of newly implemented/improved business processes and report via the monthly status report and progress meeting. Process Metrics/Tools//Techniques - Assist the USCG RMO with identifying metrics, tools, and techniques for measuring effectiveness of implemented processes. Process Improvement Communications – Facilitate weekly meetings focused on business process development/improvement (to include scheduling, reserving conference rooms, issuing invitations, developing the agenda, and recording minutes).
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements: Minimum of three (3) years relevant experience (e.g., business process improvement, continuous improvement, other experience performing Six Sigma functions etc.) supporting government or commercial clients. Experience supporting U.S. Coast Guard, other military services, or other organizations in their Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber or Intelligence functions (C5I) a plus Education/Experience: BA/BS degree or an Associate’s degree plus seven (7) years experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree. Candidates with a Master’s Degree require one (1) year of relevant experience Certifications Required: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Software Required: MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook Software Desired: MS SharePoint Application Accommodations:
