You will complete a forensic review of overall loan documentation, including but not limited to the application, appraisal, income, assets, credit, title, legal documents. You will work independently to underwrite and analyze the Capacity, Credit, Condition, and Integrity of loans to identify gaps, non-compliance, or inconsistencies in policy/procedure and communicate risk within the process or portfolio. You will document the results within a Quality database for reporting purposes. You will also help create best practices and solutions for process, procedure, and program enhancements .
Qualifications and Skills:
Required to complete Underwriting new hire training and pass all required assessments within specified timeframes Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and decision making skills Ability to clearly analyze business processes with a risk & control lens Strong attention to detail with proactive problem solving skills and able to work with a sense of urgency while ensuring quality Flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment where priorities and requirements can change Ability to deal with highly confidential information in a professional manner Self-motivated, self-sufficient and independent worker with ability to take initiative, set goals, and meet objectives while being a positive team member
Preferred Experience and Education
Minimum 2 years prior Mortgage Underwriting experience or 2 years Quality Reviewer or Audit/Controls experience with exposure to Mortgage Underwriting concepts preferred Knowledge of Mortgage Operations and Private Bank systems such as, Connect, NOX/LOS and databases preferred BA/BS in Business, Finance or Accounting preferred .
