Automated Quality Assurance Engineer - Post-Trade - Carta - New York, NY

The Liquidity team is looking for creative problem solvers to work on a greenfield initiative to build a marketplace for private securities, CartaX.
As an Automated Quality Assurance Engineer on the Liquidity team at Carta, you’ll work on CartaX, an issuer centric electronic trading platform offering tailored liquidity programs for privately held companies, funds, and other fractional assets. Specifically, you’ll be responsible for the downstream systems of the market, including post-trade and analytics.
This individual is an experienced QA engineer who is technically strong and has the business knowledge to execute, analyze, deliver, and support any feature in the post-trade systems environment. You will be responsible for helping scope, define and build the quality and testing requirements around the internal reconciliation systems, settlement and clearance systems, and downstream asset allocation and money movement systems. Responsibilities: Work closely with internal product and compliance teams to create a quality assurance program for all post-trade systems. Build, automate and operate your own testing frameworks and mentor and integrate with the post-trade engineering team. Own all of the testing pipeline for post-trade systems - UI, functional, integration, regression, performance, white/black box, you name it. Be involved in the entire SDLC and architectural design lifecycle of these backend systems. Be extremely detail oriented and capture all documentation and artifacts in an audit and compliance friendly manner. Improve the overall QA team's capacity by implementing tools and solutions to automate testing and analysis. Own and drive defect resolution from discovery to fix. Propose, implement, and maintain documentation relating to process and solutions Qualifications: At least 3 years of experience working in a QA execution and planning position. Experience with the product development life cycle and bringing products to market. 3+ years of software development. Strong analytical and data analysis skills and experience. Strong practical history of building testing harnesses and automation. Experience in all aspects of testing. Strong practical experience of CI/CD pipelines and how to integrate your systems into the process. Nice-to-haves: Experience of testing in a story-driven, agile environment. Prior experience working in financial services/exchange space. Prior experience working with BDD methodologies and automated acceptance criteria. Prior experience using Confluence, JIRA, or other Atlassian tools. Prior experience working in financial services/exchange space. Experience with AWS/GCP infrastructure and service offerings.
