Automated Quality Assurance Engineer - Client Services - Carta - New York, NY

The Liquidity team is looking for creative problem solvers to work on a greenfield initiative to build a marketplace for private securities, CartaX.
As an Automated Quality Assurance Engineer on the Liquidity team at Carta, you’ll work on CartaX, an issuer centric electronic trading platform offering tailored liquidity programs for privately held companies, funds, and other fractional assets. Specifically, you’ll be responsible for QA of the front end components of CartaX.
This individual is an experienced test engineer who is technically strong and has the business knowledge to execute, analyze, deliver, and support any feature in the application. You must establish and maintain testing environments as well as analyze, verify, and troubleshoot test results against requirements. This individual is required to report task progress, suggest creative ideas and approaches for improvement, and escalate issues to the Senior Automated Quality Assurance Engineer, as well as the product and engineering teams. Responsibilities: Coordinate QA requests from internal clients and manage test priority Collaborate with internal clients to define solution acceptance and validation criteria and write test plans Execute test plans at unit and system level Track and control test progress and status, keeping clients updated throughout the entire process Analyze test data and produce test reports, considering data from multiple sources Keep test data and reports organized and updated Improve the QA team's capacity by implementing tools and solutions to automate testing and analysis Document defects and bugs, and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve issues quickly Propose, implement, and maintain documentation relating to process and solutions Write product quality control (QC) verification scripts Help organize lab environment and put processes in place to ensure proper usage and maintenance Adopt Agile principles and methods in planning and delivering QA services, participate in Sprint planning and reviews Support engineering teams in their release cycles with acceptance and regression tests Help extend the QA service to new clients within Carta Qualifications: At least 3 years of experience working in a QA execution and planning position Experience with the product development life cycle and bringing products to market Experience eliciting requirements from end users Experience in creating test plans Experience in executing test cases, managing test results, and generating corresponding reports Experience with Linux server OS Experience with bash or other shell and Python scripting Experience with software-based test tools, scripting languages for automated GUI and code-driven testing Knowledge of continuous integration systems such as Jenkins and TeamCity Experience with mathematical data analysis Knowledge of Agile methodologies Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation and problem-solving skills Ability to adapt to a fast paced environment and changing priorities Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies Pragmatic mindset in order to succeed in an often changing and dynamic environment Strong work ethic and good attitude Ability to proactively carry out tasks independently Ability to maintain focus while working under pressure, multi-tasking and meeting deadlines Nice-to-haves: Experience of testing in a story-driven, agile environment Prior experience working in financial services/exchange space Prior experience working with BDD methodologies and automated acceptance criteria Prior experience using Confluence, JIRA, or other Atlassian tools Java and AWS technologies experience Carta is creating the ownership network that maps the world's assets.
