But he warns that such destruction, often achieved via malware, is just part of what is typically a much bigger attack chain.
In a video interview with Information Security Media Group at RSA Conference 2019 in San Francisco, McElroy discusses:
- Modern bank heists;
- The rise in destructive malware attacks;
- Attackers' counter-incident-response efforts;
- Increases in attackers' ability to move laterally inside penetrated networks.
McElroy is head of security strategy at Carbon Black.
