One major challenge with combating cybercrime in the 2020s and beyond appears destined to be attackers launching a greater number of less-obvious attacks.

"We think that one of the trends going forward into the future is that a larger number of smaller-value crimes go below the radar ... and therefore avoid detection by law enforcement," says Andy Bates, executive director of the Global Cyber Alliance.

In a video interview at Information Security Media Group's recent Cybersecurity Summit in London, Bates discusses:

  • The evolution of online crime and nation-state attacks;
  • Strategies for addressing top business challenges;
  • Free and tools to help organizations improve their cybersecurity posture.

Bates serves as the executive director for the United Kingdom, Europe, Middle East and Africa for the Global Cyber Alliance. He has more than 25 years of experience. Previously, he served as CTO at Verizon EMEA and served in various roles at Racal Electronics, Cable & Wireless Worldwide PLC and Level3.
