Healthcare Security Summit Features Leading CISOs

What are some of the most critical cybersecurity challenges facing healthcare organizations? Avoiding falling victim to ransomware and other cyber extortion schemes? Protecting medical devices from potentially deadly hacks? Beefing up breach prevention, detection and response? Bolstering compliance-driven security risk programs to better combat the ever evolving threat landscape?

Those tasks are among the highest data security priorities for many organizations.

To help address those challenges and more, Information Security Media Group has assembled a top-notch lineup of more than 40 experts for our Healthcare Security Summit in New York on Nov. 14-15.

Our sessions are designed to address the needs of CISOs; IT professionals; fraud and risk teams; privacy officers and others by providing deep insight into best practices, technologies and tools to help battle security challenges.

Our speakers and panelists include CISOs and legal and technology experts, as well as top officials from the Department of Health and Human Services' Office for Civil Rights, the Food and Drug Administration and the FBI.

Keynoters Set the Tone

Day one kicks off with keynote speaker Jim Routh, chief security officer at Aetna Global Security. Routh with share top lessons the health insurer learned during its move to a model-driven cybersecurity approach to threat hunting that uses data analytics. He'll also describe the company's planned move from passwords to continuous behavioral authentication.

Our day two keynoter, Philip Reitinger, president and CEO of the Global Cyber Alliance, will discuss cyber self-defense and addressing escalating attacks through partnerships. Because phishing attacks are the common thread in so many mega-breaches, Reitinger will describe how the security protocol DMARC can be used to help mitigate the threat.

CISOs who'll be participating in an array of panel discussions include Jennings Aske of New York-Presbyterian, Mark Eggelston of Health Partners Plans, Vikrant Arora of the Hospital for Special Surgery, Anahi Santiago of Christiana Care Health System, Mitch Parker of Indiana University Health System and Dave Summitt of H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute.

Among the regulatory officials who will speak is Iliana Peters, a longtime HIPAA expert at OCR, who was just named acting deputy director of health information privacy. She'll address how the National Institute of Standards and Technology cybersecurity framework can be used to assist with data protection efforts. Peters will also be participating in a panel discussion on the evolving regulatory environment.

Suzanne Schwartz, M.D., who heads the FDA's medical device cybersecurity efforts, will participate in a panel discussion on why medical devices should be treated as untrusted end-user devices.

Richard Jacobs, assistant special agent in charge of the cyber branch of FBI's New York Division, will be a panelist on a discussion about how to effectively work with law enforcement and regulators after a data breach.

Technology Spotlights

Our event will also feature experts from more than a dozen leading security technology firms and consultancies who will share practical strategies for dealing with ransomware and other malware attacks; addressing vendor risk management issues; protecting medical devices; improving access management; and safeguarding of privileged accounts.
